¿Hasta qué año se puede transmitir (e-file)? — año actual y 2 hacia atrás

Se transmiten 3 años: el actual y los 2 anteriores. En esta temporada eso es 2025, 2024 y 2023, e incluye las enmiendas (1040X) de esos años.

Ojo con las fechas: el e-filing center cierra al final de cada año. La fecha exacta la anuncian el IRS y TaxWise cada temporada (los productos de banco siguen hasta el 20 de noviembre de 2026). Desde que cierra y hasta que vuelve a abrir (en enero) no se transmite nada de ningún año.

Cuando abra la temporada nueva la ventana se corre: pasará a ser 2026, 2025 y 2024 — el 2023 deja de poderse transmitir y solo queda en papel.

Estados y business (corporaciones, sociedades…): no todos van igual que el federal individual — hay que verificarlo forma por forma en las páginas oficiales de TaxWise:

¿Y pasar declaraciones del Desktop al Online? Se aplica la misma regla: solo pasan los años que todavía se transmiten.

🇺🇸 How far back can you e-file? — current year and 2 prior years

Three years can be transmitted: the current one and the 2 before it. This season that means 2025, 2024 and 2023, and it includes amended returns (1040X) for those years.

Watch the dates: the e-filing center closes at the end of each year. The exact date is announced by the IRS and TaxWise every season (bank products keep going until November 20, 2026). From then until it reopens (in January) nothing can be transmitted for any year.

When the new season opens the window shifts: it becomes 2026, 2025 and 2024 — 2023 can no longer be e-filed and has to go on paper.

States and business returns (corporations, partnerships…): they do not always follow the federal individual rule — check them form by form on the official TaxWise pages:

What about moving returns from Desktop to Online? The same rule applies: only the years that can still be e-filed can be moved.
