Al crear el e-file de una declaración de
Oregon, Diagnostics da el error
«The element "FormVSI" has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: "IdentifyRaceOrEthnicity".» Lo causa la forma
OR VSI (
Voluntary Self-Identification, raza o etnia)
sin contestar.
Qué hacer:1) En el árbol de formas abre la
OR VSI.
2) Contesta
«Do you want to fill out the Voluntary Self-Identification form?»:
•
No → si el contribuyente no quiere dar el dato. Con eso basta.
•
Yes → pon hasta 3 códigos de la tabla (línea 1 = la principal; líneas 2 y 3 = adicionales), o marca
«I don't have a primary race or ethnic identity» y hasta 3 códigos.
3) Si es
casado declarando juntos, cada cónyuge contesta por su cuenta (cada uno lleva su forma); marca la casilla MFJ en la del que va segundo.
4) Vuelve a correr
Diagnostics y crea el e-file.
💡 Si también sale
«The Federal return is already accepted, and cannot be filed again», es porque la
federal ya fue aceptada: crea el e-file
solo de Oregon.
📌 La forma es
voluntaria, pero en las declaraciones electrónicas
cada contribuyente tiene que escoger si la llena o no (opt out) — por eso TaxWise no deja transmitir sin la respuesta. La ley prohíbe usar ese dato para auditorías o cobros.

When creating the e-file for an
Oregon return, Diagnostics shows
“The element "FormVSI" has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: "IdentifyRaceOrEthnicity".” It is caused by Form
OR VSI (
Voluntary Self-Identification, race or ethnicity)
left unanswered.
What to do:1) In the forms tree, open
OR VSI.
2) Answer
“Do you want to fill out the Voluntary Self-Identification form?”:
•
No → if the taxpayer does not want to provide it. That is enough.
•
Yes → enter up to 3 codes from the table (line 1 = primary; lines 2 and 3 = additional), or check
“I don't have a primary race or ethnic identity” and up to 3 codes.
3) For
married filing jointly, each spouse makes their own choice (one form each); check the MFJ box on the form of the spouse listed second.
4) Run
Diagnostics again and create the e-file.
💡 If you also get
“The Federal return is already accepted, and cannot be filed again”, it means the
federal return was already accepted: create the e-file for
Oregon only.
📌 The form is
voluntary, but on electronically filed returns
each taxpayer has to make the choice to fill it out or opt out — that is why TaxWise will not transmit without the answer. The law prohibits using this information for audits or collections.
