📄 Programa W-2/1099: qué es y hasta cuándo se transmiten los 1099

¿Qué es? Es un programa
aparte de TaxWise, el
UpTax Standard W-2/1099, para
preparar y transmitir electrónicamente las formas
W-2 y
1099 (por ejemplo, la
1099-NEC de un contratista) que los clientes con negocio tienen que entregar a sus empleados y contratistas y enviar al gobierno: los W-2 al Seguro Social y los 1099 al IRS.
No es lo mismo que los 1099 que se anotan
dentro de una declaración (1040): esos se siguen haciendo igual en UpTaxWise, sin este programa.
¿Viene incluido? No. Es un
add-on con costo adicional; no viene en el paquete de UpTaxWise. Si le interesa, escríbanos y le pasamos la información.
📅 Fechas para transmitir 1099 (aviso de TaxWise, 5-nov-2026): el IRS está cambiando el sistema de los 1099 (de FIRE a IRIS).
- Jueves 12 de noviembre de 2026, 10:00 pm hora del Este: último momento para transmitir en TaxWise los 1099 de 2023, 2024 y 2025.
- Jueves 19 de noviembre de 2026, 3:00 pm hora del Este: TaxWise baja los últimos acknowledgements del IRS.
- 6 de enero de 2027, 10:00 am hora del Este: abren los 1099 de 2026, ya por el sistema IRIS.
Entre el 12 de noviembre y el 6 de enero
no se puede transmitir ningún 1099.

🇺🇸 📄 W-2/1099 program: what it is and the deadlines to e-file 1099s
What is it? It is a
separate TaxWise program, the
UpTax Standard W-2/1099, to
prepare and e-file W-2 and
1099 forms (for example, a contractor's
1099-NEC) that clients with a business must give to their employees and contractors and send to the government: W-2s to Social Security and 1099s to the IRS.
It is not the same as the 1099s entered
inside a tax return (1040): those are still done the same way in UpTaxWise, without this program.
Is it included? No. It is an
add-on with an additional cost; it is not part of the UpTaxWise package. If you are interested, write to us and we will send you the information.
📅 Dates to e-file 1099s (TaxWise notice, Nov 5, 2026): the IRS is moving 1099 e-filing from FIRE to IRIS.
- Thursday, November 12, 2026, 10:00 PM Eastern: last moment to e-file 2023, 2024 and 2025 1099s in TaxWise.
- Thursday, November 19, 2026, 3:00 PM Eastern: TaxWise retrieves the final IRS acknowledgements.
- January 6, 2027, 10:00 AM Eastern: 2026 1099s open, through the IRIS system.
Between November 12 and January 6
no 1099 can be e-filed.
