¿Se puede pasar una declaración del Desktop al Online? — solo los años que todavía se transmiten

Solo se pueden pasar del Desktop al Online los años que todavía se pueden transmitir — el año actual y 2 hacia atrás. Hoy son 2023, 2024 y 2025.

❌ El 2022 ya no se puede pasar. Si lo intenta, el programa no lo deja (puede salir un mensaje como «Communications failed»). No es un error de su computadora ni de su cuenta: es la regla de TaxWise.

⚠️ Ojo con el 2023: deja de poderse pasar cuando salga TaxWise Online 2026 (en enero). Si quiere tener sus declaraciones del 2023 en el Online, páselas antes.

Los años que ya no se pueden pasar se siguen trabajando en el Desktop, como siempre.

📋 Cómo se pasa (pasos de TaxWise)
En el Desktop:
  1. Abra la declaración.
  2. En la Main Info, en la pregunta «What form(s) are you e-filing using PINs?», marque «The income tax return».
  3. Dele a Diagnostics y corrija lo que salga.
  4. Dele a Mark to Transfer → OK → Close Return.
  5. Entre con el usuario ADMIN.
  6. Vaya a Communications → Transfer to TaxWise Online, marque las declaraciones y dele a Send.
En el Online:
  1. Entre con un usuario administrador.
  2. En View More Actions escoja Import Returns.
  3. Marque las declaraciones, escoja en Select a User a qué usuario van y dele a Import.

🇺🇸 Can I move a return from Desktop to Online? — only the years that can still be e-filed

Only the years that can still be e-filed can be moved from Desktop to Online — the current year and the 2 before it. Today those are 2023, 2024 and 2025.

❌ 2022 can no longer be moved. If you try, the program will not allow it (you may see a message like “Communications failed”). It is not a problem with your computer or your account: it is the TaxWise rule.

⚠️ Watch out with 2023: it can no longer be moved once TaxWise Online 2026 goes live (in January). If you want your 2023 returns in Online, move them before then.

Years that can no longer be moved are still worked in Desktop, as always.

📋 How to move them (TaxWise steps)
In Desktop:
  1. Open the return.
  2. On the Main Info page, for the question “What form(s) are you e-filing using PINs?”, check “The income tax return”.
  3. Click Diagnostics and fix anything it finds.
  4. Click Mark to Transfer → OK → Close Return.
  5. Log in as the ADMIN user.
  6. Go to Communications → Transfer to TaxWise Online, check the returns and click Send.
In Online:
  1. Log in as a user with administrative rights.
  2. Under View More Actions choose Import Returns.
  3. Check the returns, pick the user under Select a User and click Import.
